The Associate of Arts Program

September 2nd, 2010

A musical instrument is an object used by a musician to produce music. While there are instruments made from everything from steam locomotives to burn pieces, most of the musical instruments being used today are those made specifically for the purpose of creating music. A musical instrument can either be used for accompaniment of other musical instruments or vocalists, or it can be used solo.

You use the basic rule on certain types of instruments for different genres, but musicians and artists are being more inventive and creative nowadays that some even use classical instruments in pop/rock songs. Some are appreciative of this hybrid, but still most go for the conventional ones.

Sound is produced by the vocal chords for oscillation of air from the lungs. Voice Function as opposed to voice per se produces a sound which the human ear can hear as a specific pitch. There are indications that involve the gender of the singers determining the full capability of their singing voices and classifying them further into soprano, alto, tenor and bass, to name a few.

When the voice is used to sing a sing, it produces a sound which the human ear does not read as a specific pitch. There are various uses of speech in a musical context. Common to them is that using rhythmic phrases and ways even more intense than those you normally hear in a song.
